4/25/23 LR:

Well, hello there. This is Larry Rolpher, and it is with heavy heart that I tell you about an incredible game between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers. Devin Booker put on a show, scoring 47 points, with 25 of them coming in the third quarter alone. The Suns defeated the Clippers 136-130 to win the Western Conference first-round playoff series in just five games.

Our Clippers didn’t give up easily, though, and nearly came back from a 20-point deficit early in the fourth quarter. They had multiple chances to tie the game in the final minutes, but they couldn’t quite convert. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant had an impressive performance, scoring 31 points, and Deandre Ayton added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns.

But the real star of the game was Devin Booker. He shot an impressive 19 of 27 from the field, including ten of eleven shots during the Suns’ 50-point outburst in the third quarter. The flustered Clippers had no answer for Booker’s stellar shot making, and they couldn’t keep up until it was too late.

With another tough night for Russell Westbrook, who scored only 14 points on 3 of 18 shooting, the Suns prevailed and will now face off against the top-seeded Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs. Game 1 is set for this Saturday in Denver.

So there you have it, folks. An incredible performance by the Phoenix Suns, led by the unstoppable Devin Booker, and a valiant effort by the Los Angeles Clippers, who just couldn’t quite close the gap. Larry Rolpher signing off for 2023. It’s now up to my colleague Hick over with the Lakers to bring home the trophy for LA. I’ll see you next season.

Oh me, oh my! What a game it was last night between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers, and Devin Booker was the man of the hour. With Kevin Durant drawing defenders, Booker found his way to the basket again and again, scoring an impressive 45 points. Durant also put up 28 points, but it was Booker who set the tone, controlling the whole game. Booker shot 18 for 29, had seven rebounds, three steals, and two blocks, while playing a game-high 44 minutes. He was simply unstoppable!

Norman Powell led the Clippers, scoring a career playoff-high 42 points, and Russell Westbrook added 30 points and 11 assists, but it was not enough without Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers sorely missed his offense, and the Suns took advantage of his absence. Despite the heroics of Powell and Westbrook, the Suns took a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference playoff series.

Game 4 is Saturday in Los Angeles, and I expect the Clippers to make adjustments, but it’ll be Booker’s turn to play again. Oh, what a game, what a series! We can’t wait for the next one.

Los Angeles Clippers Basketball

Welcome back to LA XTown Rivals for a brief overview of Los Angeles Clippers basketball.

The Clippers are led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, a couple of the best players in the NBA. Leonard is a great two-way player, and he’s also a very good defender. He’s the heart and soul of this Clippers team, and he’s the reason why they’re so successful. Paul George, oh me oh my, is a great all-around player! He’s exciting to watch whether attacking the lanes or sinking a jumper.

The Clippers also have a good bench and support in a lot of ways. The Clips are surely a solid contender. The Clippers are a very deep team, and they have a lot of talent. They’re one of the best teams in the NBA, and they’re a real contender to win the championship this year.

Thank you for coming here to LA Xtown Rivals, LA’s source for Clippers scores and standings. We all love seeing how the Clippers stack up against their more famous cross-town rivals, the LA Lakers! This year, despite having a better regular season record as the Lakers charged back, our Clips were taken out in the first round. The Lakers fared better, but not well enough to make it to the finals. We’re all forced to ask, had PG and KL been ready to play, would things be different?

That’s the way the cookie crumbles.

We’ll see you next year when we see what the Clips are made of for 2024.
